Well the usual Tory strategy of attacking the poor and disadvantaged  when they gain power on there ideological crusade to cut spending and then tax for there rich friends has begun. First up is the benefit “scroungers” who are “living well on benefits.” I would love to find any genuine person who is on benefits and is “living it up”. Only last year(or maybe the year before) there was a report that people on benefits could not manage without some casual cash in hand work and everyone is feeling the squeeze so people on benefits at the bottom must be feeling the squeeze even more.

Now this “compassionate conservative” lead government would have you believe that its easy to get a job right now with somewhere approaching 3 million people unemployed(plus others who don’t appear in the statistics) and the public sector facing massive job cuts. Can they please list the 3+ million jobs available to get us into full employment? Thought not!

A common complaint from your average Daily Fail Mail reader is that people who won’t come off benefits to get a job as they would either be worse off or pretty much the same after a full week working. I think people have gotten this the wrong way round. Its not the person on benefits that is the problem, the problem is such poorly paid work that people can barely survive on it. There is nothing wrong with expecting to be better off by working and to be in a position to enjoy life a little.
